The Australian International Airshow '99

The following images were taken on the Sunday 21st of February at the Australian International Airshow at Avalon Airport near Geelong, Victoria, Australia.  We spent from about 9:30am to 5pm there, and it was a great day.  The airshow is bi-annual event, and hopefully next time I will get a 3 day pass as there is quite a bit to see there.

Firefighting/heavy lift helicopter, Bondy and Vicki are in the front.

right at the back of the airfield were the big planes - including this B52 - allegedly on standby to bomb Serbia ..

The HUGE C-5 Galaxy transport, this did a low fly over of geelong the day after and boy it was big!

The C-5 again, I had to walk back along way to fit it all in!

Skywriting which evenutally read "cheap as chips" - just someone advertising I think.

The F111 "Pig" - I missed the dump and burn 'cos they didn't announce it.

another shot of the "pig" as it taxied down the run way.

Rear shot of the F-15, ground crew are carrying a external fuel pod.

a rather unintentional artistic photo!
